FGV Comunicação has partnered with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Guinea-Bissau to deliver a course aimed at training young people in communication and civic engagement.
Last week, Taís Vilela, a researcher from the School of Communication, visited the country to lead the workshop “Audiovisual Production Techniques.” The activity is part of a broader training program that includes classes on digital communication planning, social media monitoring, design, and more.
“The experience with the African students was incredibly enriching. It was very rewarding to see that in a country facing so many challenges, there are young people eager to make a difference and aware of the importance of using digital communication. In the workshop led by FGV Comunicação, students went through all the stages of a professional video production. Their final projects impressed us with their quality,” said Taís.
The initiative’s goal is to expand the participation of young people in Guinea-Bissau—who make up around 60% of the population—in public policy and community building. The project aims to provide accessible tools and inclusive learning spaces that foster youth expression and direct involvement in social transformation efforts.
FGV Comunicação’s participation in the project contributes to strengthening civil society and promoting democratic practices in Guinea-Bissau.
