Daniela Pinheiro is a columnist for UOL. She was a John S. Knight Fellow at Stanford University and a fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford. She has worked at Folha de S.Paulo, Jornal do Brasil, and the magazines Veja and Piauí, and served as Editor-in-Chief of Época magazine. She has won the Troféu Mulher Imprensa four times and the Prêmio Comunique-se twice as the best print media reporter in Brazil. Daniela mentors journalism projects in Spain, Latin America, and the United States. She is currently based in Lisbon, where she is writing a book about a single day in Brazil in 1999.
