About the event
From June 25 to 27, FGV Comunicação will host the 12th edition of Global Fact, the world’s largest fact-checking event, organized by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) of the Poynter Institute.
The opening ceremony will feature Justices Alexandre de Moraes (Supreme Federal Court), Cármen Lúcia (President of the Superior Electoral Court and Supreme Court Justice), and Attorney General Jorge Messias. Remarks will also be given by FGV President Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal and IFCN Director Angie Holan.
Held in Brazil for the first time, the event is supported by major Brazilian journalism initiatives such as Aos Fatos, Estadão Verifica, Lupa, and UOL Confere. Its goal is to promote the exchange of experiences and tools among journalists, fact-checkers, and communication experts from around the world, to strengthen the fight against disinformation and foster collaboration among media outlets.
